Annika Kahrs, Strings (2010)
The performance Strings took place in the frame of the performance program Schwanengesang/Swan Song on September 21, 2013 at Hebbel am Ufer (HAU). The performance program took place in the frame of the exhibition The Unanswered Question. İskele2 (September 8 – November 3, 2013) in cooperation with TANAS and HAU. The program brought together international artists and musicians, performing on the stage of Hebbel am Ufer HAU1. Artistic formats ranged from classical music, body performance, speech acts, and vocal performance, as well as intevention with the audience and multimedia art.
In the performance Strings by Annika Kahrs a string quartet plays Ludwig van Beethoven’s c-Moll op. 18 Nr. 4. After playing short passages the musicians switch seats in turn in order to take over their colleague’s instrument each time they switch, all in all the seats are changed four times.

The series #Diskurs monthly presents n.b.k. events that were held in the frame of exhibitions at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein. Lectures, symposia, and artist talks, as well as concerts and performances regularly take place within the series „n.b.k. Diskurs“, inviting visitors to participate actively. Artists whose works are exhibited, guests of our residency program, and speakers develop outreach formats in cooperation with n.b.k., that can make different artistic and curatorial approaches and thematic issues productive. The n.b.k. conceives its discourse program as a conversation between the institution, the public, and members, from which ideas for the ongoing institutional work and its content grows.
