Zen for TV and the Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem
Director: Dani Gal, PS / IL / D 2010, 22:34 min
Al Midya
Director: Dani Gal, PS / IL / D 2014, 26 min
In both films, Dani Gal examines the controversy around the classic Hebrew novella Khirbet Khizeh, which describes the expulsion of Palestinian Arabs from their village by the Israeli Army during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. In 1978, the story was supposed to be shown on Israeli TV, but the Ministry of Education and Culture banned the broadcast on short notice and that decision prompted huge nation-wide protests by cultural workers.
Free admission.
