Marc Aschenbrenner
Marc Aschenbrenner (*1971 in Linz / Austria, lives in Berlin) initially studied painting, and later, multimedia with a focus on video at the Universität für künstlerische und industrielle Gestaltung Linz. His filmic works center on performance, examining the perception and representation of both figures and materials. Often acting as his own protagonist, he examines how a figure emerges in an image, positions itself in spatial structures, and merges symbiotically with its pictorial background. In such films, Aschenbrenner explores fictional and mystical spaces to provoke metaphysical questions.
